Old saws

Aging quietly on a wooden wall, these typical Japanese saws arrested my eye.

Re: Old saws

Hi,
I am going to venture a thought on this, but I am definitely no expert so dont take my comments to seriously.
To me this seems a little flat, the wood lacks definition and the saw blades dont seem to have any detail. Also the image does seem a little soft.
Did you use flash? If so maybe trying to use available natural light would give a more contrasty look, maybe this could also be done in the post processing but I am in no position to comment on how to do that.
I hope my comments don't seem too harsh, I should wait and see what others more competent than me say before you take my thoughts too seriously!
