If blower isn't enough then use a sensor brush, they really do good job. If you wait to long Martin the dust will probably fuse to the sensor. emoticon

Chris,
The Canon XTi "400D" has a self cleaning sensor, and lots of lenses to choose from, including the EF-S series. May be cheaper in the long run compared to Olympus.

Cheers

In looking about phase at the moment...the Canon doesn't do spot metering...if it did...hence the Oly with shadow and highlight spot metering

Two exposures in RAW all converted to use in HDR and no loss at either end...oh I dream

Not sure about powder brushes, especially if there made with natural fibers. The sensor brushes I've seen are made of nylon and they are the flat type. I bought mine on Ebay the cheap ones, two brushes, one for the sensor and the other for mirror and chamber, for $14.00. The trick here is to skim the surface, the static charge attracs the dust and no harm done to the surface. Really works great.

The other solution is to invert the picture, then the dust spots will look like stars. emoticon

Chris, so it's the spot metering your after.
Should be standard on all Canon DSLR's.

Cheers

Check this guy out. He's had pretty good reviews from all around the web and a freind of mine swears by him. At least it won't cost you an arm and a leg to try it out.

Chums,

Apologies, my first post for over two weeks. Spot of unavoidable work commitments took me pretty much off-line for a couple of weeks so sorry for not getting back on this one.

TVM for all your comments/suggestions on the HDR – PS2 v Photomatix thing. I’ve not managed to try them out yet but now that I’m a bit less loaded I will do soon.

Info appreciated. Cheers, Dave B.
