Thats the way chris, you will find with practice that increasing contrast with IF is a great way to edit, use mask and paint back the differeing levels of paper contrast where needed, you can open shadows and close them using the paper grades, also if you increase the paper grade to say 3~4 reduce the paper exp as well this realy boosts it with out blocking up areas
