What Resolution is Best?
When uprezzing an image in PS for printing, which resolution do you normally use? The native resolution for my camera is 240 pixels/inch. But when making a larger print, say 20" x 30" do I bump up the resolution to 300 pixels/inch?
Of course, this is all theoretical, I've never printed an image 20x30 but if I outsourced I may have to provide them with an interpolated file.

Re: What Resolution is Best?
Hi Steven...the work is yours and you will want to be happy with it so I suggest you do several images at different resolutions so that you are happy with the output...it has been said to me that for large images 240ppi is adequate but is it for your work?

Re: What Resolution is Best?
As far as I am aware Steven, for fine art BW through your 3800 ABW then make sure the finest detail box is unchecked, the native resolution of the 3800 with this box unchecked is 360ppi, if your where to set your ppi in the image size box in PS to say for example 240ppi it will make no difference as the 3800 driver will automatically set it to 360ppi.
When I am asked to provide image to various outlets inUK ~ USA they always ask for 300ppi.
For my own ptinting I always set the ppi to match the printer ppi and that is 360 for the 3800

Re: What Resolution is Best?
I did not know that Martin, I've been searching high and low for this info. For some reason I thought for larger sized prints
required a resolution much higher than 240 ppi. But what you're saying is that it really doesnt matter?
