Limited editions / Certificates of authenticity

Does anyone do prints as limited editions and if so do they provide a "Certificate of Authenticity" etc.

Any comments, suggestion, thought welcome.

I do Bill, every limited edition picture comes with a cert of authenticity, run number, title and most important signed by the artist, the run number is like this 20/50, meaning picture 20 of a 50 maximum run, after which the image is no longer sold

Thanks Martin

I thought you did, and I was wondering about doing some of mine as SLE. I am also considering Hahnemuhle Certs of Authenticity and holograms as a possible way to go in future. Costly but possibly give enough apparent added value to make them worthwhile?

I've used one too, Bill. See an example here. Although, I've mostly just signed and numbered the very bottom of the print on the white border.

Thanks Steve

I too sign on my colour prints but (I know you'll think this daft) I have not been able to find a way of signing my B&W, which I do on a low gloss paper (Fotospeed Platinum) It does not take pencil or oil based art crayon well. Permanent marker is too stark so I was wondering about signing verso and using CofA etc.

Bill, I rarely print my images on gloss/semi gloss papers but when I do, I use Ilford Gold Silk Fibre or Harman FB AL. After a lot of research I found a special pen that works well on these papers and is smear proof. Can't remember the name, I'll get the name of it and email it to you.
