Where did you get the ink coverage and cost from?

The ink usage came from :

http://people.csail.mit.edu/ericchan/dp/Epson3800/index.html
The cost being based on £40 (best price) for an 80ml cartridge, so 50p/ml.

Is your Epson a 3800? The 3800 ink seems to be about half the cost per ml of ink for the Epson printers which use smaller cartridges.

Hi Bill,
What is your experience of Photo Black / Matt Black ink changes on the 7800 - I have read that they use a considerable about of ink (up to about 1/3rd of a cartridge) - which seems very expensive (an ink change would cost about £21 with ink at £63 per cartridge) emoticon

Reason for asking is that I might be able to pick up a lightly used 7800 for about the cost of a 3800 - which would give me the ability to print colour panoramas - but the ink change cost sound painful....

I don't change. My set up is profiled for the gloss/photo black only, partly for that reason. Most of my prints are colour and My set up is fully profiled for that. B&W requiring dense blacks I print of Fotospeed Platinum papers using and until I have a volume of B&W prints to justify it that's how I will stay.
