Long Exposures...
I have long been wondering if there was ever a strong ND filter that could be used for longer exposures than the normal ND filters from the cokin ones i use, well i have come across such a filter from B+W...the B+W 77mm ND-110 (3.0) SH Filter....
Here is a site where this togger is dedicated to long exposures and i just wished i had this filter when we had the forum meet at Whitby, because this filter will give you long exposuers even during the day.
take a look at these mone images....

I was thinking of getting that myself - not acheap filter though!
I was taling to Kate Barclay a local Landtog who has her pic on the front cover of Landscape photographer of the year and she was expalining that to use them you have to set evrything up before you put it on as you cannot see a thing!
Yes thats right, but that would be ok for me because when i use my Tokina 12-24 wide lens i always have that lens set to maual focus and i nearly always use F/16-F/18 and use the feet/meter reading scale to get my depth of field settings. It would probably be the exposure that would need sorting out but i will be ordering one very soon and can't wait??

Im never sure whether the DOF scale is useable on my 17-40.

Re: Long Exposures...
Mine arrived from fotosense last week, I've not had a chance to use it yet... Hopefully off to the coast in a couple of weekends to try it out.
I did try stacking 2 circular polarisers on top of each other with partial success...

Re: Long Exposures...
Have been playing with mine for about 5 months or so, great fun and the possibilities are endless which is a good thing as there are only so many pictures of groynes in misty water that can be taken
Dont forget the ND grads to keep back the skies and the wired/wireless remote for the long exposure (which i forgot on my first trip out with it,standing with your finger on the shutter release for five minutes trying to keep dead still is not fun ).
