Schloss Sanssouci, Potsdam Potsdam lives up to the oft-used description of 'garden city'. It's location on the River Havel and associated lakes plus being blessed with the wondrous Park Sanssouci and it's Schloss make it an absolute 'must' if visiting the Berlin area. Pictured below is Frederic the Great's palace - Schloss Sanssouci.
I like this Keith, ol' Freddie was lucky to have such a symetrical and photogenic abode.
Mark
Thanks Mark. IIRC, he had it built as a place of escape from Berlin, his Queen and courtiers, somewhere he could live without cares. ( In French, which was the language of the Court sans souci = "without cares"). Lucky him!
