Bamburgh Castle

This is a shot I took about three weeks ago from an location I had never spotted before. It was a one-off chance and the lighting was very harsh but nothing ventured nothing gained emoticon

I have done my best with the skills I have at the moment but I'm sure there is a better version hiding in there somewhere emoticon

Hi Keith, I usually ask cruel questions of new members...
do you have a style you would like to aim for?
this looks a pretty competent image ...what dont you like about it?

Hi Chris, please feel free to ask anything. No, I am not deliberately setting out to have any kind of 'style' other than to produce an image that satisfies me - and that I can't explain emoticon, it just has to feel 'right'. As for this image I think my view has been coloured ('scuse the pun emoticon )by the many wonderful images on this site, also, when editing I sometimes find that I can't see the wood for the trees and don't know where to stop. I think I had better stop now, I seem to be talking gibberish emoticon

Thanks for joining Keith, the image is actually a great shot, panos never look that great as they do need to be bigger to appreciate, one thing I would say is with the absence of colour we need a substitute to give a mono image impact and I call it mood, it has to have a feel to it. Your image gets that with the sensible pano crop and can imagine it would look excellent big. The image edit is very open and not restrictive in tones, no clouds but a nice graduated sky, its got good scale with the inclusion of the modern buildings, first post is a gud un emoticon
