Saltaire Mill-B+W 110
Here is a first attempt at using the B+W ND 110 filter, so far it is looking good, but still needs practice??...

Karl, where as i am enjoying the images i am not getting the subtlety created by the filter...wondered if on your next outing you could do a 'normal' shot to compare with for the likes of me

Re: Saltaire Mill-B+W 110
I think it just smooths the water, gives motion to the coulds for that creamy look in a setting like this.
Looks good Karl, I really like it.

Dave

Re: Saltaire Mill-B+W 110
I like it, Karl, nice effect on the sky and the water looks like a sheet of glass. The only problem I see is the blurred trees on the right.

Re: Saltaire Mill-B+W 110
Thnx for the comments on this one....
The blurred trees are abviously caused by the 60sec exposure, the only way would've been to take a normal shot and blend in the rest around the trees.

I like the range of tones and perspective. The mirror water is a bonus too.

Re: Saltaire Mill-B+W 110
Blurred trees don't bother me.
Apart from loving the conversion, I think the composition is excellent, getting the whole of the reflection of the Mill in the smooth water is spot on.

Re: Saltaire Mill-B+W 110
Great image Karl its got the lot, the reflection and leading lines are fab as is that tone.
Its good to see that filter being used with finesse as well (i always go for the 4 min sledgehammer sky) with no loss of drama.
Nice one.

Re: Saltaire Mill-B+W 110
Hi Karl,
Not got a problem with the trees either and like the subtle effect on the water and the movement in the clouds. Really interested in the ND 110 and very tempted to get one myself to0 help with my seascapes.

Hugh

Re: Saltaire Mill-B+W 110
Thnx again for the comments...me and the family were at Bucken village a few days ago and we came across more waterfalls and to think that i was getting exposures in bright sunshine at 33secs is amazing.
