Tate Modern...

Image

...Fifth floor! Took this earlier this year. No tripod so (Canon EOS 5D) EF24-105mm @24mm, f7.1, 1/13sec hand-held, ISO 1600. In processing with CS4/Silver Efex Pro I tried to give it a grainy high-speed film feel, commensurate with the actual lighting conditions and ISO setting.

Also (and not wishing to sound too 'arty'), I was struck not only by the brutality of the architechture/colours but also by the air of mystery created by the increasing gloom of the fading writing on the wall by the left descending staircase.

C+C welcomed, as ever.

Blimey! It's certainly "in your face art" (TM I Mean)

I'll need to look at this a time or two to get my head round it.

I remember these steps and think you've captured it brilliantly.

Only difficulty I find with this is the bright area at the right draws my eye.

I would either crop that area away or significantly darken it.

Nice work, Keith, has an abstract feel to it. I like the high contrast.

Thanks for the feedback, guys!

Bill - I went through many iterations both with the raw file and then with Silver Efex Pro, trying to capture the drama and high contrast but at the same time reducing the brightness of the far wall. In the end (and not to burn any more midnight oil), I decided to upload the above version. However, I might just revisit it...
