I have bought various lens , etc from kerso1123 who has an e-bay shop

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/FLASH-CAMERA

Great communication, great prices and excellent delivery, usually next day.

I recommend Ian from my own purchases from him

Thirded.

A very nice bloke too who I've met even though he lives in Baltimore. In fact he is coming to my house this week!

Great service and communication and importantly, great prices.

What he doesn't list, he can usually get...just ask him.

Re: For Canon ~Nikon users

I'll email FLASH CAMERA with my request - I bought my Spyder from him satisfactorily.

I've been scanning eBay UK online sellers of Nikon cameras - I'm after a D90, body only. Compared to the best price from well known stores of about £650, several eBay shops offer them for about £560 (trustsaleuk, enterpaintball ...).

I want to know if I'd be missing something that I'd get for £650 from a town centre dealer or well known online dealer, like they are grey imports and the warranty is unreliable or short term. Then I can try to decide if saving £90 is worthwhile.

Does anyone know what is going on, eg how they can provide cameras at this price in the UK?

I've noticed that used versions seldom go for less than £530 - not much saving, but maybe they would be better than buying new from these eBay shops if with full UK warranty and any other benefit that I don't know about.

For buying cameras I would play safe just in case the unlikely fault appears and get it from Warehouse express, there pretty good on prices, easy to contact and deal with, plus there UK and no gray imports from them. Go to the other online companies, you save a bit, but peace of mind is worth that extra cost from a reputable seller, thats what you get for the extra cost

At the moment the D90 from them is £630 and guess plus P&P

I asked one of the sellers to explain, and got:
quote:

Bodies have USA warranty valid in UK with the UK invoice provided
Lenses have 1 year International warranty.

I'd need to be a lawyer to understand the implications, but it sounds OK unless I'd need to send faulty item abroad for repair or replacement. Is the UK warranty normally longer than a year? I imagine that manufacturing faults would occur within a year.

I have just had a Canon flash from Kerso. Quick delivery and a price better than Jessops with their current 30% off offer!

Re: For Canon ~Nikon users

I have bought a number of Canon items from Ian (Flash Camera) over the past year or so - lenses, 580EXII flash and so on. Each time the price was good (obviously!) and delivery quick. However, I would hesitate to buy a body from an importer. Indeed I would go further and say I would in future buy from a local retailer. Why? I bought a 5D MkII in early Aug and am now on body number 5! The first four all had an unacceptable number of marks/dirt on the sensor (and I mean lots). T4 Cameras agreed in each instance to replace the body. Just imagine the hassle if one had each time to box them up, pay to for insured delivery and wait for a replacement!
