Dual Monitors

Iam sure most of you already know this but I just discovered it so I thought I would share.

If you are running dual monitors on one video card you will not be able to calibrate, at least with Spyder, the profile wont be able to load correctly due to the dual connections. I have ordered a second video card due to getting very use to having a second monitor connected to my machine.

Its very useful to have the bridge running on one monitor and CS3 in the other. It also comes in handy for other apps as well.

Re: Dual Monitors

I have a dual monitor on a PCI Express card.
To calibrate with the Spyder 2 I have to convert to single monitor and calibrate that and then add the second monitor and calibrate that ... both profiles appear to load correctly ...point me to more info Rob

Re: Dual Monitors

From page 7 of the Spyder2pro manual....

"Note
Multiple Monitors
Computers using the Windows operating system with multiple monitors need to have a separate video card for each monitor. A multi-head video card (a single card that drives two or more monitors) will not work correctly. Each monitor must have its own profile, created specifically for that monitor, associated with it. Associating different profiles to monitors attached using a multi-head video card is not possible on Windows."

I just installed my second card, works great. when you open the profile selector, it brings up a selectin window on each monitor. Check the "show profiles for this monitor only" then double click the one that applies. Done

yep...thats what mine does...think the manual for the Spyder2 was prior to PCI express cards that can hold two separate profiles
