put it on POTN Martin it should go quickly

Re: Canon EOS 5D markII....
Full frame, its a great camera and the detail is tremendous in landscape, but I needed a back up camera for my cycling photography, the 5d is to slow at A1 thats the reason I want rid, put it on POTN already but the offers where to little, so will wait till I get a decent offer or just keep it

Of course I forgot your 1D wasnt FF - I would have thought the best option for your type of photography Martin was to convert it to Infra red?

Re: Canon EOS 5D markII....
Congrats! I love mine! I have set out to reproduce the "black dots" and couldnt. I took pictures of the white christmas lights on my street at the highest ISO settings, made sure to blow out the lights and at 300% zoom I could not find any black dots. The banding was pretty bad but no black dots.
I have about 700 shots on this body now and can honesty say I dont mind parting with the 3k plus I spent on the kit.

Re: Canon EOS 5D markII....
Now the dust has settled a litle and real people have got their hands on it, in general I'm impressed.
The video feature is very impressive but not something I'd use outside the novelty factor.
There is an issue with black dots on highlights which I consider to be a major blunder on Canon's part...there's even a PS action doing the rounds to remove the dots!
I recently opened up a sample image and repeatedly opened the shadows and was extremely impressed with the detail and lack of noise. (I don't know how much of an improvement it is over the Mk1 which was also very impressive)
I still can't justify the price over a 1 series Canon and am still opting for a low shutter count 1d Mk2 or 3.
The credit crunch has put a halt to that for a while longer though

Re: Canon EOS 5D markII....
The 5D was the perfect camera for me with one exception, it just needed a few more pixels, not a lot but just a few. 15 or 16 would have been enough, but now they have brought this out, I really cant see me needing another camera ever unless I use this one to death.
I have read (lots) about the black dots and am not concerned as I dont think I have a single image in all the pics Ive taken where it would affect me, so is unlikely to do so in the future
The sRAW banding doeasnt affect me either as I will not be using that mode.
I needed to get the camera before I spent the money on something else!
Can't see me ever using the video, except maybe my daughter's wedding in 2010.
If is just as good as the 5D with extra pixels Im satisfied
