Master file correction

In the master file correction , half way throug where you have copy/pasted the colour master onto the mono master, when painting in the colour you say 'if the colour is too strong'

Too strong for what?

I assume you're going to turn it B+W so why does it matter if it's 'too strong'?

Also: I presume using B+W conversion in CS4 will work the same?

Because you are introducing colour back to the monochrome image and trying to match the tones in specific areas a reduction in the colour strength "might" be helpful, the reduction of colour alters the strength of grey tone conversion

A 100% red channel will produce a deeper tone than a 50% strength channel.

The principle of Contrast grading will work in any software providing you follow the masking procedures outlined in the tutorial so YES it will work with B+W conversion in CS4
