yes I bought this lens!
In a nutshell: it's the same as the 17mm end of the 17-40 zoom but a little bit wider. And that's the problem, its only a little bit, much less than I hoped
However, unlike the 17-40, the edges are sharp, but you can't use a polariser or other filters.
I'm returning it, as it just isnt different enough to the 17-40 at 17 to warrent the money
