Re: Canon EOS 1DMK3
Well, after Martin's review and a lot of research, I purchased a MK3. The 5D MK2 was very tempting, but in the end I wanted a camera that was a little better rounded for the range of photography I do. As has been said many times, the 1 series cameras are built like tanks. Very comfertable in my hands. Everything about the camera is built for speed and fluidity. Coming from a 400d (XTI), there really is no comparison. Not that the 400 is a bad camera, but it is not of the quality in any respect really to the MK3. The range of settings you have controll over allows you to really customize the camera to performs at its best for many different shooting situations. As Martin said, there are just to many to go into.
The quality of the file is really hard to describe unless you have shot with it and processed the files. They are truely wonderful to look at and to work with. High ISO files are also truely wonderful. Very clean and completly usable.
I shot a wedding this last weekend, shot from indoor low light to a full on sunny noon time wedding. Tha camera handled everything I threw at it with ease. I really prefer to shoot natural light, and this camera has delivered better than I imagined in low light situations. I really could not be happier. And the dynamic range of this camera really shined for the outdoor ceremony. White dress, black tux, full noon sun, no problem. It has made my job easier period.
I could not be happier as I said. If high megapixals is very important, than as Martin said there is the 1DS MK3, or the 5D MK2.
So for me, it is money well spent. No regrets.
Regards,
Dave
