I do have this software and find it to be OK but also awkward to use at times, especialy if you have to keep opening it to do small adjustments, it does give some good effects for mono, but nothing that really cant be done with PS or other lots cheaper plugins.

The control points seem pointless to me especially when you can use masks in PS to do the same thing and more versatile.

The structure control is basically a high USM again in PS

The highlight and shadow controls work OK but you can do the same job on them using PS or cheaper plugins like B&W PRO

Grain is nothing new, its good but so is Alien Skin exposure 2

Toning again can be better done in PS

I like the loupe and the way you can see where tones are, but does this really help, I can see if my image is tonally what I want in PS !!

All the other effect can be done using Photokit, like burn edges, vignette etc.

Its a good in the box package, but I think over priced, for the asking £$ you might be better of spending a quarter of the price on Alienskin exposure2 and that works with colour files and does everything that EFEX does but IMHO better

I also use Nik silver efex. But I too find it a bit on the slow side at times. Had B&W pro been available to me at the time I bought it I am fairly sure I might not have spent the money. That said it is still useful for some images, I can look at certain pictures now and recognise one of the presets will do a good quick job for me.
