B+W ND 110 77mm filter

Some may have looked at the thread i started about these filters and was in the hope to own one soon...

Well now i own one and have a try with it...and here is my view so far.

It's a challenge to work with and with reading on line about how to use has helped. It is a must that you prefocus first and also take a reading, it also helps to have a lens with internal focusing and sadly my tokina wide lens has decided not to work any more and i'm sending it to kenro to look at....but i have managed to use my kit lens though it's a little awkward tying to stop the front of the lens from turning...

My first edit I tried was of a shot of Brimham Rocks but i thought the trees looked awful and very very soft with blur, so i used the normal exposure and blended in the moving clouds.

I also need to learn how to control the exposure and to short will result in to dark an image, i do have however a list of settings that i came across that gives you settings you will see in the view finder and then you go with what it says in the settings....for example: 1/50s will be 21secs or 1/15s will 1min 9secs, which means you need to use the BULB setting and either use a watch or in my case watch the secs on screen. What you also have to wait for is the writing time if you have the custom function set to noise reduction set if your using long exposures...

That's my experience so far

A good starting point for ISO 100 is

Shutter Speed X 1500 this will give you the time in seconds.
