Canon EOS 1D MKIII shadow recovery example This is an example of shadow recovery ability of the 1D MKIII that has garnered so much bad press on the net. Image is shot at ISO 100. I did shoot a bracket of 3 shots, but wanted to play with this one for an example. These are straight from the camera. ACR 5.0 into photoshop and converted to jpeg.

3 stop adjustment to shadow area in ACR using the brush tool. Only intent was to bring up shadows, not meant as a fine edit.
100% crop of original image in the trunk of the tree.

The MK3 is a cracking camera and I for one wont be changing mine for a long while, its a camera that can do all jobs well, easy to use and super fast in operation, I can honestly say that the files from it are as good if not better than my 1DMK2s and that's a whopping nearly 7 mil pix larger.
