John Clow

Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right place for this sad news.

Although John Clow was not a Member of this forum he did indeed visit the forum to look at our images and I have had many dicussions with him on images posted here.

John, sadly, lost his recent fight against illness on Tuesday of last week.

For us Brits we may be aware of John's work and inspiring images of Snowdonia (North Wales} during the last 30 years. He is well known on the Midlands area of England.

I have had the privilage of knowing John for about the last ten years of his life, and I can say no one has had more inpact on my work than he has.

He was mainly a film and dark room man & he will be a a great loss to the photographic world at large

Some of his images are considered to be iconic and one of the best mountain photographers this country has ever produced.

I will endeavour to follow in his footsteps all the time I have my health to trek the peaks of Snowdonia.

John

I will get consent to scan a couple of his images to post.

Thanks John

I'm sorry I had not heard of him before. Seeing the photos helps me to appreciate; a very distinctive style of work.
