Re: Party at Scuffs
Yeah man, your ****ing head will wind up in a bag with ten other heads and get dumped out on a dance floor on the local club. Sorry, got carried away there.

Re: Party at Scuffs
Scuff, I've been around, just busy here at work and busy canning beans at home. Gardening is a lot of work and I'm not a big fan of hot weather. Getting some maters now and the corn will ready anytime. The okra got flooded out and I had to replant, so it'll be another three weeks before it produces. I had a bunch of crooked-neck squash and zucchini. Picked wild blackberries last Sunday, was bleeding like a stuck pig by the time I got a small bucket full.
Today is my birthday, turned the big sixty-one (61). I hate being this old, but the way I'm looking at it...I'm another day closer to retirement.

well Happy Birthday, Roses! And kudos on the blackberry picking. I love it too, and the time is now, also in Menorca!

Re: Party at Scuffs
Happy Birthday, Roses. Sounds like you been busy on the back 40! I have tomato's on the vine but they sure aren't getting ripe. Cloudy weather up here. I could eat a ton of wild blackberries. Put 'em on ice cream and a cobbler would be great, too. Not a big fan of squash but the wife makes me eat it. I hope you have a good birthday and remember that every day we get vertical, we've won. Eat some cobbler for me. Nice to hear from you.

****in' eh, dude! Happy Birthday! I really didn't used to care how long I lasted but I always had 107 so I'd see America's Tricentennial. Now I hope to be around that long to enjoy my family... and retirement. Happy day, man. Have an Old Grandad or three.

Re: Party at Scuffs
Happy birthday Roses. You seem like quite the gentleman farmer there.
And since you have a wealth of beans, I'll share with you guys Grandma's Dago Bean recipe.
Clean a pile of green beans and steam them until they start to get soft. At the same time get 3-4 strips of bacon frying in your biggest frying pan. DO NOT drain the grease. Drain the beans and put them into the frying pan with the bacon and the grease. Keep turning the beans as they brown slightly (5-10 minutes depending on how hot). They'll shrivel up and look nasty, but that's ok. Serve them with grated parmesian cheese sprinkled on top.
The bacon grease and the cheese take away any possible health benefit of eating these beans, but you'll never have them any other way.

Re: Party at Scuffs
Thanx for the B-day wishes, y'all!
Grandma's Dago Bean recipe is delicious, Rodent . But, as Emeril says, "Kick it up a notch!" by sauteying some onion in the bacon grease before adding the steamed green beans. Your tongue will slap your face silly it's so good!
