Weed, find the posts from 12/20/2008 under Booze. Thread is "Christmas at Scuff's." We talked about the Thomas Handy rye. I don't remember it exactly but judging from my post it was assuredly delicious.

Weed and I had a Rusty Nail tonight, to sort of kick off our Classic ****tail Club. Not bad at all. Weed was surprised that it had scotch in it. Drambuie and Scotch. Rather tasty. But I'm smelling rye, fellas.

We got two crystal decanters on the bar; scotch and drambuie. We also got 6 "official" rusty nail glasses. So if you stop by Greenock, PA, that's what you drink.

I think I can handle maybe two Rusty Nails and probably nothing else. I remember when I would have 3 or 4 before going downtown for the night. But that was 15 years ago.

The Rusty Nail was very nice, but it would never be my goto. It's a little too sweet and not really something to drink over the course of a night. Might be a good finishing drink or after dinner, tho.

Yeah I think a few of those would hammer you. I don't know about the sweetness, though. Jo likes them (or used to before the Big Vomit) with a little more Drambuie. There's no extra sugar in them so the sweetness must come from the Drambuie. It was okay but I'd agree it wasn't a go-to ****tail. I was talking about Sazerac rye, leads, not the drink, although . . .

Adjusting the amount of drambuie adjusts how sweet it is. My dad likes his a bit sweeter, I like less.

Thomas Handy Sazerac Rye Whiskey is the best whiskey or rye I've had. Amazing. Smoothe and tasty. I'll take it on the rocks next time. emoticon
