Meh. We have a D. E.J. Henderson is back, and he's the NFC's answer to Murderin' Ray Lewis at the Mike. Fat Pat and Kevin Williams, plug up the run, and Jared Allen is the best in the League. We got some youngsters in the backfield that show promise. Our identity lies in ball control, but our QBplay is so inept, that when it comes to 3rd and more than 4, you have no legitimate threat. Couple this with the fact that opposing D's are daring us to pass, by stacking 9 in the box to stop AP, and we still can't get it done. We have Berrian and now Percy, whom they're touting as a Reggie Bush type play maker, and hopefully Sage can give us mere consistency under cnter, and we've got the tools in place. I honestly am ambivalent about the upcoming season. If the Vikes fail to go deep in the playoffs, I think it's the end for Childress, but I've been saying that for two seasons. I never thought I'd say it, but I miss Denny Green. He couldn't assess defensive talent, but he could put together a high-powered offense. That made losing more fun than not scoring an affensive TD for 3 games.

Been there and done that QB wasteland thing. From Bradshaw in 1982 til they drafted Roethlesberger in 2004, there were about a hundered guys named Moe. Always had a good D, always had a good running game, but nobody to sling it on 3rd down.

Gotta get you a franchise QB slack. What was the last one, Tarkenton?

Brett can't win the big game, tho. He's great for fantasy football for like 5 games a year but I wouldn't want him. I think last year was their year with Brett, but they couldn't get him. Stick with Sage. He'll be an upgrade over Tavaris. I'm wondering why they didn't sign John Beck. He was a second round pick 2 years ago. The Ravens just picked him up for backup to Flacco competition.

Flacco is the real deal. Reminds me of Big Ben. You got to get something to go with him, tho.

This is a discussion I'm having on a football board. If you're willing to say that a sceond and a third next year is what you'd pay to get Boldin from the Cards, why wouldn't a team, knowing what thy're willing to pay, go after some of the "untouchable" WR's? Maybe the Texans realize they're 4 years away and Andre Johnson is worth a first and a third. I take that. Over Boldin any day. Make a play for Charles Johnson. A first, a third and a fifth. Done. We'd be hard to beat with our D, our running game, and another reliable, able to stretch the field a little WR. No dooubt.

Prevailing thought on hte board is: we're ok and we don't need a top line WR. I'm ok with not a top line but we need a little more at that position. emoticon

You need ANYTHING at the position. What is Mason, ready to file for social security? Dude, you'll never know if flacco is top shelf unless you give him somebody to throw to. And I think Heap has reached is use-by date.
