Well Tweed, you obviously ain't a roman catholic and the good lord ain't hearing your heathen prayers.

My stillers tried mightily to **** it up, but in the end, the ancient QB threw one too many INT in the red zone and we came away with the victory. Not that it was pretty.

We did stop AP with 65 yards which was about a hundred less than the Ratbirds. Ben was good, but not great. But the W was all that matters. You don't want to come into the burgh with an undefeated record. You'll go out with a loss. The down side is that I drank too much and won't be able to play hcokey tonight.

That's the story of my ****ing life. "The Steelers were not great, but good." Tha bout sums it up. Sadly my Ratbirds have put themselves on the wrong side of the 8-ball and need to be great not good. Usually we're on the wrong side of goodness. emoticon

**** you, Rodent. You guys got away with one. So goes the season....we eked one out against Balto and San Fran, so this is karma. I feel the Vikes outplayed the Steelers this day, but your D made more plays than our O. It was a fun game, and probably the most contyent I've been after a loss in awhile. We went into hostile territory, and went toe to toe with the big boys. General talk around town is that people feel better about the team after this loss than they did after the win last week against the Ravens. Tripping call negating our TD late in the game was bull****, but that's football. Seemed like the penalties were weighted heavily towards the Queens. (This is common reaction amongst Vikings fans after a loss; we didn't lose so uch as the refs ****ed us.)
I think this week , even though a loss, shows that the Queens, at least, belong in the discussion about Superbowl contenders, provided Favray stays healthy.
****, even the old-timers, who winessed the Purple People Eater era and 4 Super bowl losses are being rousted out of hibernation, and starting to talk about them. This hasn't happened since Bud Grant retired.

Nothing would please Baltimorons better than to see the Stealers go down in flames, screaming and yelling in pain. We can only hope for some Big Ben meltdown, or that Troy slips and twists his ankle.

But Slack, seriously, you believe you are SuperBowl bound, maybe? I wish you well but you guys must be listening to Wagnerian opera and reading Icelandic eddas. Eric the ****ing Red is spinning in his Viking grave somewhere. In Baltimore, we'd be content with a solid win over a solid team. It's pretty quiet in RatbirdTown. We are all holding our breath as our own Cardiac Kids stumble through practice for Sunday.

**** Pittsburgh.

Well lets face it. It would take the second comming of Christ for the Vikes not to win there division and anything can happen in the playoffs. I would say they should be it the Superbowl discusion.

They lose Brent and they're in BIG trouble. Sage is good but I don't know he can carry a team into a big win. The Packers ain't bed and if the Bears can play consistent, they could be decent. The division teams are always tough games. Don't they have most of them left?

Ravens fans have their finger on the panic button ready to push at any second. Gotta beat a good team...

Steelers lost two that they should've won, and this week won one that they probably should've lost. Minnie D looked pretty good against Big Ben. Can't understand why you didn't run AP 4 times with 1st and goal from the one.

Thank you. Point made. This team is 6-1, yet Childress' perfromance approval ranks lower than 50%. Most of the town has accepted the fact that he's a dip**** as an in-game coach, but he's managed to assemble one hell of a team. I, as well as many, would be happy if he was gone, but his drafts have been good, and I fear it would **** up the general direction of the team if he were to leave, so I have to accept that the team still wins, despite him. This is basically the same team as last year, sans Favre, but Chilly was deemed a QB guru via McNabb, and he traded up for Travesty Jokeson, then stuck with him for way too long. He still stands by T-Joke, thinking that he's gonna learn a bunch from Favre. The whole town knows that once Favre goes tits up, we're ****ed, so everyone is putting their hearts into the now. Alas, like you say, 1st and goal at the 1, run AP once, then pull, arguably, the best football player in the league out of the game? Unforgiveable. I wanted them to hand the pill to APP 4 times in a row, if need be. He would have scored, more than likely, anf if he doesn't, we pin you deep, and our D was playing well. Like I said, we should have won that game.
FIRE CHILLY!!!!

Brian Billick did that same **** here a couple years ago and was fired the following offseason just after signing a huge extension. Harbaugh did the same thing last year against Pitt in one of the games. The Ravens thought they needed to purge some of the existing mind power with the Billick firing but he too assembled great teams. But they were always lacking in one area or another. I think it's the same in Minnesota. If Childress had been right about T. Jackson and he had turned out to be their franchise QB, they'd have been in the mix last year and definitely this year w/o having raise Brent from the grave.

I love all those young players they got on Minnesota. Harvin is going to be really good, Rice is too, and AP is a beast. You guys have like a 2-3 year window right now so I expect to see them play hardball in free agency for an established QB. I'd love to see McNabb up there. If that happened, they'd be my odds on pick to win it all next year. Favre is a one year stop gap, go for it all, fill in.
