Corporate Bailout
Sure, they gave Wall Street $700 Billion, but Detroit doesn't get ****. Wall street is full of white collar executives, and Detroit is full of UAW union men. Laughable , man. This country is ****ed. Suits win again.

Re: Corporate Bailout
Detroit got ****.
I just hope that we hold their collective feet to the fire. You don't have a birthright to make $25/hr when the global competition is paying $15/hr. If you can't live on $15/hr, go do something else. Also, if you're laid off, you can't expect to get 90% of your pay indefinitely for sitting on your ass. Also, the corporate ****s need to have their salary tied to performance. Most ridiculous thing I heard was some board of one of the bailout banks trying to justify their payment of outlandish bonuses to their top execs. "After all, if we don't pay them, then we can't retain their services." Dumb****s drove the plane into the ******* mountain. Go get Joe the plumber to run the place. Only thing you can be sure of is that he won't do any worse.
Finally, since each of us is going into hock to the tune of several thousand dollars each, I hope like hell we have a say on how this **** is done. I hope Obama doesn't go back to "business as usual" after he comes on board.
Three years from now, stock market will be back up, everything will be hunky-dory, and we ain't getting our bak back.
Mark it.

Re: Corporate Bailout
**** global competition, and **** their 15$/h pay.
We got more technology and more productivity than we had 25 years ago, and yet workers have less rights and less pay. Why? Oh, because we gotta compete with the chinese and the like. Well, sir, I do not want to compete with them. And I woulnd't have to if our politicians were'nt sold to the greedy bastards who have taken control of our system.

Re: Corporate Bailout
I get tired of people ripping the Big 3. Sure, they were too stubborn and wouldn't change their ways, but people just want them to die, and they'll cite the Japs superior product. So the Japs make a better product, but Americans have a duty to keep their money in country. Buy American to support American jobs. Cheap foreign **** is what got us into this mess, starting with tube socks and electronics, and it's spread to everything. It's ****ing hard to even find American-made products anymore unless it's a specialized item. Basic items don't exist.

Re: Corporate Bailout
I agree with everything that was said so far. But I dont think we need to bail out the big ****ing three just like we dont need to bail out the ****ing banks. THIS IS ****ING CAPITALISAM let them go under and sell them to the highes bidder. I dont want to hear all the union workers *****ing about loss of job when they demand way out of line wages. If we are going to make **** in america we have to be able to do it competitivly. We dident have the industrial revolution just becaues we are ****ing america, we had the ****ing know how and the cheap ****ing imagrant labor!
When I get on a rant my spelling gets realy bad.

Re: Corporate Bailout
What is wrong with chapter 11?
It allows a company to stay in business while they restructure. Sounds like a perfect ****ing solution to me.
Unions run amuck.
It is not only the fact that many of these ****s made 6 figure salaries(a FACT taken directly from an NPR interview)after over time, but you also have to take into consideration the best health insurance money can buy, vacation days, and the pensions of all the people that used to work for them but don;t have the good sense to die.
There are many ins and outs to this whole thing but I don't like it. I don;t want them to fail but I DO want them to get with the ****ing program. All of them. From the top down. Wake up.
