Re: Corporate Bailout
I think they should be forced into Chapter 11 too. They ain't outta business and they can then choose for themselves to sink or swim. I hope they choose to swim because it was through the innovations of the American auto industry that all other production industries gained the know how and technologies to do amazing things. But they have no choice but to go green. Something they should have done 30 year ago in spite of the government taking the decision to buy cheap foreign oil as a matter of international policy. Had they done it back then and marketed those technologies correctly, they'd be in the catbird seat right now.
The problem, imo, is the government once again getting involved in economic decisions that end up ****ing the regular guy. ****ing NAFTA and other trade agreements from Bush I and Clinton, sent the engine of our economy to other parts of the world. Now our people work at Walmart selling cheap **** whilst the Mexicos and Chinas of the world gladly take our money to produce products that could be produced here better.
I don't really know, dudes. I don't have much faith in Washington. The people there don't strike me as people that would put their necks out for doing what's right or what's needed in hard times without having their own hands out for something they think they're due. That's a recipe for a shifty dishonest ****sucker--- which I think is what we've pretty much got in every facet of government.
