Save the baby agaves
I am becoming alarmed by the violence in Mexico, wherein the drug cartels have escalated the violence in response to the governments efforts to crack down on the drug trade (cracked down - get it?). Any way, the banditos are better armed and have more money than the government and are killing randomly in an effort to intimidate the government. More than 36,000 have been murdered.
This has had a chilling effect on the Mexican State of Jalisco, where lies the town of Tequila. They are killing so many people that there are no pickers to harvest the agaves for tequila. Plus, they are burning the agave fields to intimidate the distillery owners (read Cuervo, Herradura, etc.). Where's the outrage? This is allowed to happen and no one cares? Am I yet again a voice crying in the wilderness to Save the Agaves?
I am wearing crossed yellow ribbons from a bottle of Patron Anejo in protest. Let's get this stopped so I can refocus my efforts to go on safari and kill a lion without having to worry about my favorite adult beverage.
Jesus, people. This is a line crossed.

Re: Save the baby agaves
Go down there and take care of it yourslf, Scuff. Surely, a conservative, anti-government man such as yourself wouldn't expect the US of A to address this problem with tax dollars..... After all, we're over in Afghanistan and Iraq waging war to address the issue of......
wait. What day is is this?
Why the **** are we over in Afghanistan and Iraq again?
Oh yeah. To fight them over there instead of over here.
Well, seems like the tequila terrorists are staying over there, so it looks like you'll have to switch to American made tequila. Sorry, dude.

Good one, OD. If not for Gadsden, you'd be a Mexican. But I think we got the best of the bargain. Plus there is no American tequila. It's gotta come from Mexico. Santa Anna would not have stood for this kind of bull**** internally.
I'm going to go re-read my copy of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
