Re: H1N1
An elementary kid died the other day. School is 3 miles down the street from us. I'm betting we get closed down for a while this year.
OD, was it as bad as other flus? Worse...
Apparently, teachers may not be listed in MD as "needy" for the shot. Laughable. I'd like someone to tell me, other than doctors, who comes in contact with more infected kids than teachers...

Re: H1N1
It wasn't that bad... but I usually don't get a fever especially one that hangs around for 4 days......my stomach was fine, save the morning crap from my sinuses which collected and had to barfed out...I still have a little of that going on... a couple of lugies seems to take care of that

Re: H1N1
I just got over the worst sinus infection of my life. I almost felt like saying to the doctor, test for swine flu. I had little or no fever, no real soreness but my head felt as big as a house. Afrin was the only thing that cleared it.
Anyway, I was just wondering because I go back to school Monday and there have been like 10 emails about it. I think the boss and I are getting shots this ear. I've never had one.

Re: H1N1
Weed I hate to be the one to point this out but, its not that people dont belive teachers to be at high risk for the few, just that they dont rank high enough to give the shots too.

Re: H1N1
I'm used to getting **** on as it comes to "need" so it's really nothing new and I really don't care. But right you guys are about classrooms being petri dishes. I had a class a couple years ago where a vomit/diarrhea bug went around. There were a couple time I barely made it to the bathroom and there were kids going home left and right for puking and pooping all over themselves. ****ing gross. And I was the second class it got to and there were at least 6 more that it went thru before it was pretty much done.
All I'm saying is, kids get sick. With 600 of them in a small space M-Fri, that's a lot of exposure to whatever is going around and if you look at how those things spread, they take it to families, who take it to work, who take it to other families. You knock schools out of the equation by inoculating for the thing, you go a long way in minimizing spread.
