Crabs

Well dudes I am just finaly recovering from last weeks crab trip. Me and three other good friends whent out to the coast to catch a bunch of crabs and drink our livers away. It is the first guys only trip I have had in a long time.

We took my buddys old ass boat that apparently his dad had made himself. It was a bit scarry to say the least and four dudes and seven crab pots could barly fit into it.

The first day we caught a **** load of crab but the two of us pulling up the pots had never been before and we did not know how to tell if they were keepers or not. We brought in about 30 crabs and the dudes cooking them up on the docks said only about five were leagal.....WHOOPS! It is a 150 dollar fine for each crab and they take your boat and the truck you pull it with. We dogged a big bullet there.

We whent out that night and got drunker that ninehundred indians. The locals seemed to like us ok except for when my buddy got kicked out at the end of the night for asking the owner if she wanted to smoke some dope with him in the ****ing bar. What a ****ing idiot. The hightlight of the night for me was this ****ing hot blond chick that was sang Kareoki. She got up and belted out Bobbie Magee and if ****ing rocked. Know let me just say that I ****ing hate kareokie but this chick was amazing. I whent over and started up some small talke becaues I wanted to here here sing "whats up" by The Four Non-Blonds. She did and it was ****ing awsom. It reminded me of my old getting puss days as im fairly sure I could have seald the deal but I was good becaues I love my family.

So the next day comes early and just me and my buddy Joe can get out of bed to go crab at eight in the morrning when the tide is right. So we are way the **** out in the bay when and doing pretty good when the engen stops and we cant get it going again ****. We were paddaling along like some indans in a canau when some dude stops and pull us back to shore. We got the boat running again and whent out after our pots.

All in all we caught about eighty crabs and had a huge feast with all the chicks when we got back.

Yeah, dude, that sounds awesome. I haven't been in about 25 years, just because it's easier to buy a bushel and eat your weight than it is to go out and catch 'em yourself. But I definitely remember the drunken crabbing expeditions of my youth and they were a lot of fun.

Remember when we broke into that dock at Newport to steal the dudes crabs, but they got smart and took them out of the tanks.

It's sad that you've now gone legit dude.

Ya and I was thinking about that more than once on the trip.

We have Dungens crabs. You just throw them in a pot of boiling water with salt and then eat them when they come out. There is nothing better than eating hot crab right on the dock after you catch them.

Not saying one way is better than the other but boiling crabs will get you shot in MD.

MUST BE STEAMED.

TRY them steamed, dude. You'll never go back to boiling. All the natural juices get carried into the broth when you boil... When you steam 'em, the juice and flavors stay in the shell.

I'd boil clams, mussels, and an ocassional lobster--- which are great slow steamed--- but no self-respecting southerner should ever boil a crab. Only when making soup and then you need to steam the ****er first with all the spices and ****, and then add them to the soup as the last ****ing step.

I'd make some and send 'em but crabs sitting in a warm UPS truck to Louisiana might not turn out too well emoticon
