Re: Happy Halloween, dudes
Takin' the kids to the parents and around our neighborhood to friends. Scuff, if you and Josephina would like to come over we'll be having drinks handing out candy and commiserating with the other parents...

Re: Happy Halloween, dudes
Are you crazy? Tonight's the night of witches and goblins and long-legged beasties and things that go bump in the night. Plus, it's raining. Thanks, though.
I just scored a DVD collection of 50 classic horror movies. A 12 DVD set for $14.99. Such things as Atom Age Vampire; Attack of the Giant Gila Monsters, etc., but it's also got Night of the Living Dead. Tonight I'm sitting down the basement watching the first vampire movie ever made. A German film, Nosferatu. There's a ton of old schlocky movies, though. Some Vincent Price stuff. can't wait to show it to you.

Re: Happy Halloween, dudes
Funny you mention Nosferatu... I just dvr'd it from Turner Classic. Had hoped to watch it last night but rain and kids in costumes and crying and "I'm wettttttttt. Ohhhh nnnooooo." Kinda wore me out. So the boss and I ate some candy and crashed by 9:30 pre-fall-back. Nice. Maybe sometime before next Halloween I'll watch it.

Haloween was good dudes, got back in country just in time for trick or treating with the fam. Got back home and passed out due to two hard weeks of South American drinking.

Re: Happy Halloween, dudes
Comparison of Nosferatu with Bram Stoker's Dracula was interesting. Points: 1. Nosferatu was silent but the organist had to have been insane. 2. Black and White can be very creepy. 3. Special effects are an amazing advancement. 4. The old flicks are sort of not scary from the perspective of 2009 technology but they were pretty scary for their time.
I cannot abide zombies and cannot understand the current attraction, though they do appear to be easy to kill, especially in rural PA, where the folks must be really stupid. (No offense, Rodent. I have relatives in Culver.)

Re: Happy Halloween, dudes
I had a huge party at my house that lasted two days. We got a keg from a local brewer and had a bunch of food and booze.
We had all the kids ready to go trick or tread at half time of the duck game and we power trick or treaded and made it back in time to see most of the third quarter. GO DUCKS!!!
The keg was still flowing when we woke up and there were people passed out all over my house. We started drinking on the keg about 10am and it finaly blew about an hour after the Vikes game. After the keg was gone we drank all the wisky and vodka that was left.
My liver hurts.
