I got refurbished Sansa E260s for me and the wife. $15 each. I have my whole mp3 collection on the thing. Tweed knows that's not insignificant.

Where'd you get it, Rodent? I'm going to put a Sirius hook-up in the boss' car and I'm going to get a new system for my truck so that I can plug one of those ****ers right into it so I have all my music with me. Might do it for the boss too.

BTW, Rodent's music collection is the nutz! Every Beatles album on dvd, some Time/Life greatest hits from every year since 1903... Awesome. emoticon I still refer to it before downloading. emoticon

Okay, then. All I got is a measly Ipod shuffle, for the gym. I've been thinking about getting an MP3 player, but have a ****ton o time invested to ripping CD's to itunes. Can I transfer them over to the new format rather easily, or is it a headache? Also, what's a good brand to get then, ****suckers?

I got two.

Creative MuVo - low end, plays mp3 and wma files, I got the 2GB. Plugs right into the usb port on your computer and you use it just like a flash drive. Uses 1 AAA battery. Costs about $20

Sansa E260 - middle of the pack. Plays all kinds of **** including pictures and videos. Little 2-inch LCD color screen. Has a proprietary battery that you have to charge from your computer. It holds 4GB, but can take a 2GB microSD card. Costs about $30

Re: I was saving this one

I got an iPod Shuffle as a gift and gave it a fair shot. The device itself was simple and sweet. Sturdy too. So small it went through a full cycle of the washing machine but played perfectly once I let it dry out.

The problem I found, though, is the darn software you have to install and use just to manage your playlists. It's always prompting you to install updates and other stuff, including Apple's browser, Safari, which if you haven't heard, is creating issues which can be potentially fatal to your PC and with no ETA for a fix. Yikes.

Sansa (owned by SanDisk) has some really nice mp3 players at a good prices. What's nice about them is that all you need to do is install the drivers and then you're good to go. If you're using Microsoft, then you just copy and past via Windows Explorer.

Sorry if I went off on a tangent there. Hope that info helps.

...Yea ...all the sudden (the next day) I had Safari...You really have to pay attention and be sober when you do an Apple install (I'm not sober nor do I pay attention)
