Re: Gran Torino
...Sorry about the Tom Horn movie ..and my '****s"....It really affected me ...as I am from that general region and I'm saying this is wonderful...I just couldn't get over the beauty of it----Although the reviews were less than great....Steve McQueen is one of the people I enjoy watching... Control Freak ... Out...Wasn't boring as many things are!

Re: Gran Torino
... I can't say I'm a big fan of westerns. My brother however is a huge fan. He insists that I must watch 'The Searchers' (John Ford) again and again. To him, that last scene when Ethan (Wayne) is left isolated outside the house and wanders away into the wilderness is the highest form of art one can experience. Do you agree on this??

Re: Gran Torino
Tell him to watch "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada," with Tommy Lee Jones. Great ending.
Although it might be hard to find.

Re: Gran Torino
Great Escape also on last night. Wife ordered me to stop whistling the theme song. Those Nazis are real characters, too. '"Cooler, 20 days." "No funny schtuff, okay?"
"Verner, we need a camera with 2.8 F-stop und a focal plane shutter."
Such fun loving boys, those GIs. I'm sure it was pretty realistic.
