Re: Johnny Cash
I love Johnny Cash. His more country ****, the old: tears in my ears from lyin' on my back and cryin over you babe---ish stuff, I can do without.
I think style-wise he's got a mix of rockabilly/country-blues. Delia's Gone and Folsom County Blues are awesome.

Re: Johnny Cash
Definitely Rockabilly. I don't care for new country music. A friend of mine has always said, "I'd rather hear a fat woman fart than watch a pretty boy sing."!!!

Re: Johnny Cash
lmao. I hate the new country too. I never liked Johnny Cash and Hank Williams or Chet Adkins when I was a kid, but now that I'm a little older, I get it a little better and can enjoy it on occasion.

Re: Johnny Cash
Speaking of country music. When we were on our crab trip as I said in the other thread we were at the local hang out for Karioki. One of the locals sang the Hank Williams song about why do you drink.
So apparently it is a sing along song with the locals becaues when the dude would sing.. "Hank why do you drink" Then the locals would yell..."To get drunk"....."Why do you roll smoke"...."To get Stoned"...."Why do you relive all the songs that you wrote"..."To get laid".
Have any of you ever seen this **** before? They think is pretty ****ing cool in Garabaldi Oregon becaues two different locals sang the song in one night.

Re: Johnny Cash
John R. Cash. RIP. They don't mkae 'em like that any more. All them old outlaw ****ers. Check out Highwayman. Cash, Willie, Waylon, and Kristofferson. They cut 3 albums through the 80's. A **** ton of songs that I relate to. Today's country music is nothing more than a bunch of pea****s strutting on stage. Cash wasn't country music, he was American music. I have no less than 75 of his songs in my ipod, and I ain't scared to roll down the windows and blare that **** while driving through North Minneapolis (only in daylight). I also make it a point to play at least two Cash songs on the jukebox, when at a bar. Cash is a legend.

Re: Johnny Cash
Yeah, I love that kind of music too, Slack. Got tickets to see Willie for the 14th time next month at the Tennessee Theater in Knoxville. Great place to see a concert and Willie does it right. The shortest I've ever seen him play is an hour and a half.
Whiskey River, take my mind.
