Re: Johnny Cash
Dude, there was a concert up here this year that I missed. It was Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, and John Mellencamp. It was in July when we were at the beach and I couldn't get there.
That San Quentin song is great. That's the kind of stuff from Johnny Cash I like too. I really like the Ballad of Ira Hayes and Sunday Morning Comin' Down.

Re: Johnny Cash
I saw Dylan right before I left Texas in 06. He didn't play the guitar because of his health, he stood at the keyboard all night. His lyrics were nearly unintelligible. It wasn't pretty. I would rather have been in my living room listening to Nashville Skyline.

Re: Johnny Cash
I downloaded "Live in Europe" onto my iPod. I really dig the Dead.

Re: Johnny Cash
That's sarcasm. But I did download them, to give them a go. No go. Just can't abide them.
They are still on my iPod. I bought the album "Live in Europe," hoping for some inkling that I might have missed something. Tried to be open-minded. Sorry. They are to me what Tom Waits is to you.

Re: Johnny Cash
Im with Scuff on this one, I just can't get into the Dead. They have a few good songs that I like, but for the most part it just doesn't move me. Maybe if I was high...

Re: Johnny Cash
I like them more and more, especially the Garcia/Grisman stuff.
