I quit feeding the monkey, man.
Haven't had a drop since Dec 31st. It's an annual thing. Gonna stay sober until St. Pat's, lose about 40 pounds, then drink like a mother****er until 2008, gaining back the 40 pounds. Repeat cycle.
Getting kind of bored, though. It's been too cold to do **** outside, so i'm pent up in my crackerjack box, which I refuse to renovate. I'm bowling like **** right now, so I have no desire to go bowling. Reminds me dudes, in leagues last week. I rolled a clean 212 in game 2, and we lost by 3 pins. If that wasn't crushing enough, in the 3rd game, my thumb started slipping, and i rolled a 92. First time i didn't break a hundred since high school, or while severely intoxicated. I almost started drinking after the 92. It was awful. At least the ****ing bears lost that night, to ease the pain. I look forward to St. Pat's, though, so I can start drinking again. Nothing like celebrating the oppression and scourge of my ancestors' countrymen by partaking in the substance that was a major cause of the scourge and oppression, eh? Is that ironic?

I respect how you stick to your guns. That's pretty amazing that you can just stop drinking. I'm currently working on day 3 of a pot-less work week, a little involuntarily but I enjoy it every once in while. And I ****ing SUCK at bowling, I think my all time high score was 92...but that's just the stress talkin', man.

Jesus.....212 and then 92. I cannot bowl without having drinks, or even go in a bowling ally for that mater. It goes against my religion of Dudism (which I am now an ordaind minister of)

I stopped drinking after the Conference Championships and had planned to hold out a mere 2 weeks with the South Beach thing again because this is the time I did it last year. Made it 4 days. Bad day at school= you guessed, it 4 beers. On the wagon and off quicker than you could whistle Dixie.

But 4 days, dude. I was a little disappointed in myself and felt soft like a girl. But I roused myself for happy hour on Friday, brushed myself off, and drank those feelings of self pity into a minor hang over on Saturday. Swiss watch. Been drinking ever since. Maybe I'll try again next year...
