I was just thinking about that the other day too. Sad. PN seems like a nice guy.
Something I plan on teaching my kids is to continue to pursue what they love to do in spite of dip****s playing politics and maybe even saying they ain't good at it.
I gave up sports after getting cut from Varsity baseball as a freshman in HS. I made the team and then promptly got cut because 3 seniors decided to go out for the team right at the final cut deadline. Coach told me, "Sorry, kid, you woulda fit in real well with the team, but I've known those kids for a long time in rec-ball. Plus they're seniors and you have 3 more years." Got bumped down to JV and JV cut me because they had a full roster. I was like, "I was just on Varsity you dumb ****ing hump What do ya mean I'm cut..." "Whoa! Watch your mouth, kid."
The last thing I remember saying after swinging my bat and breaking it against the wall was that, "...all you ****ing political-clique-loving-assholes could suck my ****!" Never played again. Dumb. I loved palying sports. And I let some old ****ers crush that outta me. I wish I had looked for other places to play but I decided that there was no fairness and it was all in who you knew and how well you kissed ass. Which may not have been too far from the truth, but nevertheless...

The magnitude of what we don't know at 15 would fill the ****ing Pacific basin. I lucked out coz I played hockey which nobody played. So I could be a star and still be a bespecticled geek at the same time.
HSBully1- we should kick his ass. He has a 4.2 GPA and won't let me cheat off of him
HSBully2- yeah, but he's captain of the hockey team and them ****ers are rough
HSB1- yeah, let's go beat up the kid with the full mouth headgear.

Righto, but it was a hot lunch! I did steal my Dad's Jap Nambu once. I think it was a 9mm. Had no ammo but took it out and waved it around with my buds. Got scared and took it home before I really ****ed up and got caught. Now that would've been some hot **** trouble in 1958. An 11 year old juvenile delinquent waving around a 9mm Jap Nambu.
