The Dude's religion
Does the Dude belong to any organized religious movement? Is he a Lutheran?
On another note, who would you cast as Dude's parents?
Christpher Lloyd as Rev. Jim and Mama Cass?
Wavy Gravy and Janis Joplin?
William Randolph Hearst and Gloria Vanderbilt?

Re: The Dude's religion
I would cast his father as some realllly old dude in a wheel chair... familiar, eh? How about Donald Sutherland And his mom would be Jewish.... perhaps the woman who played George Constanza's mom on Seinfeld. interesting twists yah?

Re: The Dude's religion
Maybe his Pops was The Big Lebowski before he got his legs shot off by a Chinaman and the dudes don't know it, yes, yes? And his Mom was . . . either Costanza's mother or that woman who played Philo Beddo's mother - Ruth Gordon as Ma Boggs.

Re: The Dude's religion
Jesus mang.. You really thought that one out, eh scuff? I feel like a writer of a book and Scuff is the hot shot walrus movie maker who just takes my idea, completely ****s it up, takes credit for it, and gets lots and lots of money for selling it as his own.
Great idea scuff, so how would the dude have taken the name lebowski? crazy coincidence? ... so in the sequel, they begin to call the dude Jr? Then they realize that the dude ****ed his sister and that they have some incest child... and he thought his worst problem was the ****ing rash... This sounds like a bad incest zombie flick.. not a worthy ****ing adversary of TBL... unless it was made as a bad zombie flick and just used the same characters... for you know, familiar effect.

Re: The Dude's religion
Nah, Maude is his step-sister by another woman - Vanessa Redgrave, maybe. It's a tad creepy when he finds out but not really incestuous. Lots of ins and outs but nothing blood-related. The Dude was originally Jeffrey Alan Lebowski. His father refused to send any child support so his mother disavowed the bum, but let little Jeff keep his Daddy's surname. He never knew his Dad at all and after a while never even thought about who it might be. However, in unknowing, unconscious rebellion against the machine which would allow such a state of affairs, he became a would-be radical, sidetracked by pot and the occasional acid flash-back. All of this is proved by his actions when Maude was doing those yogish moves to try and increase conception. The Dude doesn't want, uh, progeny because he has no sense of what it takes to be a father.
Swiss ****ing watch, Burger.
