Well, it's an anachronistic appellation. From when I was a cop back in the late 1960's, maybe even before that. It lasted until just the other day when you didn't recognize it.
A man who was always after some strange pussy was said to be a **** hound. I have no idea why except that ****ing was also known as laying pipe, laying **** or getting some **** action. That got shortened to getting **** and a guy who was always looking for it was said to be a **** hound.
