....Sage wants a Berreta for Mothers Day..But the whole thing is complex...The ****ing of a 380 is difficult for her; the 9mm is easier...I don;t know ...Help...maybe she should have a pistol...****

Re: Guns
I enjoy guns. Pistols especially. What kind of 380? Surprised that its harder, being a smaller load and all. I just got my concealed handgun permit in the mail last week.

Re: Guns
Why a Beretta? Try a small caliber Kimber. 9mm is a better gun for ladies, IMHO, because they are easier to control than other calibers. Why a 380, indeed? Nice gun but worthless if she doesn't find it easy to operate - she'll give it up and not shoot it. Nothing big, no .45s or even .357s. .38 is too small if it's for personal protection.
If she wants a gun around the house, nix the pistol. Buy a Remington 870 Wingmaster in 12 gauge, cut the barrel off to the legal limit. The racking of the slide will scare off most and in a stessful situation she doesn't have to remember how to aim, just point and pull the trigger.
Josefina tried to shoot a .38 and couldn't manage it too well. We got shotguns in my house. Plus, if she says that the recoil would be too much understand that in a defensive situation she won't even feel it.
But if it's for fun, the .380 or the 9mm would be great, just make sure the pistol fits her hand, or change the grips. I'd opt for the 9mm, but out east ammo is scarce.
Just my opinion, man.

Re: Guns
I'm a big Kimber (and 1911) fan, but I don't think it's a great gun for someone who hasn't been shooting for a long time. The relatively complex operation and the carry style (****ed & locked) doesn't make for a great beginner gun.
Check out Kahr OD, they make some quality small guns at great prices. Taurus also has some good small pieces called Millennium. Some are available in titanium, which makes them even lighter and more carry friendly.
Scuff is 100% correctamundo about the shotgun. The best house gun without a doubt. You don't have to be as precise as a handgun, it will scare the **** out of anyone with its action alone, and the chances of over-penetration (missed shots going through your wall and hitting other family members) is next to nothing. A great gun for the home!

Re: Guns
hahaha, that's funny, OD.
Leads is right. Ix-nay the Kimber. That Taurus is awesome. Gotta get one. That woman seemed able to control the recoil and get off the second shot.
Man, can you imagine that? You pull that piece out on the lanes, Jesus Quintana himself would be sucking wind getting outta there. Almost makes you want to find a situation and try it out.
But not quite.
Od, why does she want a handgun? For fun or self-defense?
