Journey to Hogwarts
Shanny blinked as she was pulled along the train by Ryah.
"I'm so confused." She said. She still had James by the hand, so he was being dragged behind her.
Finally, they found a compartment, and Ryah sat down, pulling Shanny into the seat next to her. James made to leave but Shanny pushed him onto the seats opposite.
"Okay you too, explain." she said and waited for them to start.

Ryah glared at James and then told Shanny everything. "You know how I always talk about my mom's boyfriend and his son, who I've never liked?" Ryah asked Shanny.
"Yea, you wouldn't ever tell me who he was, but I knew he went here." Shanny said eyeing the two of them suspiciously.
"Well...it's James. And this summer, our parents decided to get married. So he is officially my Step-brother." Ryah said with disgust in her voice.
"Oh, shut up Ry, it's not like I'm enjoying this any more than you!" James said loudly.

Shanny was still glancing between them.
"One thing that bothers me, though..." she trailed off as the train started lurching forward. "Why wasn't I invited to the wedding?"
Ryah started laughing, and James just put his head against the window. "It was a busy summer, girl." Ry said, showing off her new rings and her flawless tan.
"Ugh." James muttered, opening a book on modern magic.
"SHUT UP!" Ry shouted, pulling out her wand. "Cool off, you guys. " Shanny interrupted.

"James, if you want to try and find the guys you can." Shanny said as she turned to gossip with Ryah.
"Those rings are gorgeous!" she said and Ryah grinned.
Just then the door opened, to reveal Simon standing grinning.
"Hey Ryah" he said. Shanny got up and shut the door in his face.
"Stupid boy. I wish i could say it was your Veela charm. But he's just a pig!" She moaned. Ryah laughed.
"it's okay Shanny, it's just your kid brother."
"Yeah, but he has a crush on you! It's disgusting. He needs to pick someone his own age." She looked over at James, who was reading his book and lowered her voice.
"Ryah, i'm going out with your brother. Doesn't that bother you?"
"STEP-brother, and no, because i don't really count him as family. He's the same prat he's always been."
Shanny sat back and rolled her eyes.
'This year's going to be fun!' she thought to herself.

I'm alright. James puffed, avoiding the fact that he wasn't the most popular Gryffindor.
A light rain had began to fall on the express, and Ry and Shanny continued to chirp about the latest fashion accessories, while James practiced new spells that he had learned in 6th year.

James glanced at Ryah, and looked at his wand, and then back to Ry.
He pointed it at her, and her ears grew, and her nose protruded from her face.
"AH! WHAT'S HAPPENING!" Ry screamed. "It's a hex." James said, standing up and running out of the compartment before Ry could regain her composure.

"That JACKASS!!!!!!" Ryah screamed fixing her nose and running after him.
"You guys STOP!!!" Shanny screamed at both of them.
"Get back here you stupid prat!!" Ryah screamed. Just as he went around the corner she hit him with a superb Bat Bogey Hex.
"Stupid Git!" She said walking back to the compartment and sitting down.

"I missed you too! And it would be great to come meet your mum! I spent most of my summer owling you and James really. Dad took us on a muggle vacation. Again. Mum's trying to convince him to let us go somewhere OTHER than Wales, and do something OTHER than camping. But he likes it. You know how sometimes he gets a bit left out, because of Simon and me being magical. Oh, i may need to copy your Charms homework. Flitwick said that this year i'll be serving all detentions with Snape." Shanny recited to herself as the step-siblings continued fighting.

Roars of laughter came from the compartments as doors slid open, and kids came stumbling out.
"NO YOU DON'T!" he screamed, running after her. He fixed his face, and hit Ry in the back with the Levicorpus charm....
