There was a smooth rock on the bank of the lake, where Shanny liked to sit sometimes. She sat there now watching the giant squid waving its tentacles in the air.
She sighed and took some parchment and a quill out of her bag and started writing.
Dear Mum and Dad,
Hogwarts is fine, Simon is being the usual Simon, but somehow he's still alive.
Guess what? James and Ryah are brother and sister, they've kept it a secret for ages! This complicates things a bit because they hate each other. But I think I can get them to be friends by the end of this year. I hope so anyway.
