 Ed'! Do you know anything about those goverment grants to help do repairs on older houses? Think it is for low income folks like Alfonso Absorbinejr. I looked up on the tax records and my house was built in 1924 so with my low income and house of historic age, I am hoping mayhaps Uncle Sambo can assist!@

every state has it's own interpretation of historical property.
If it had anything to do with the Cival War or Underground Railroad then you can get grants easy. The problem is that standards will be placed on what you can and can't do. You most likely would have to keep it close to it's original state and not modernize it in any way. As with the new socialist / facist regime, if you take Gov money then you also invite them into your bed.
Your income is also a big factor as the area the home is located in. Cities have programs to rehab homes in blighted areas. Check into it with your local township. Is your property being encroached on by the business distict. It may end up being zoned for business in the near futire. Why bother then.
