Ax Hairy!!
Once and for all, (till next time anyway), does Ringo do any of the drumming on 'Sentimental Journey' or 'Beaucoups of Blues'?
Who is the lovely lass in the Pete Ham '7 Park Avenue' cd booklet? Is it Mrs Pete or his daughter? I wanna have her babies!

Re: Ax Hairy!!
Plenty o' hair on this head and shoulders. The dogs keep stepping on it though.
1. America is a nation of consumers. Big time consumers. If there were anything larger to hang by the fireplace that could hold goodies, well, we would already be doing it. Not that there's anything wrong with it.
2. Where does Donald Trump get those sun visors made out of hair?
3. If I recall correctly, there are three lasses pictured on "7 Park Avenue". Catherine Ham, Pete's mum, his little (at the time) neice, and his mid-'60s girlfriend Bev Ellis, who was not the one who was pregnant with Peta Ham at the time of Pete's death. That would have been the ex-wife of one of Badfinger's roadies. Pete also seemed to have the tendency to leave his old lady of the time back in Merrie England and pick up an American girlfriend for the duration of their US tours. "Baby Blue" was dedicated to one such. Although he always seemed to be such a nice guy (well, he never sued anybody in the band), apparently he was a bit of a cad with the ladies.
4. Best information from Stefan Olander regarding the first two Ringo albums is that the only drumming Ringo did during the "Sentimental Journey" sessions was on the "It Don't Come Easy" demo (which as yet did not have a final verse). Some of the backing tracks were actually recorded in the states by the credited arrangers and flown in to George Martin. Ringo did not play drums during the main body of sessions for "Beaucoups of Blues", but had to get up and jam with D. J. Fontana (and everyone else) for the Nashville Jam, and played drums and acoustic guitar on "Coochy Coochy".

Re: Ax Hairy!!
Yes, that was the George Martin produced version. The news story of that session appeared on the front page of Melody Maker at the time. Believe the lineup was George on guitar, Klaus on bass, Ringo on drums and Stephen Stills on organ. And neither George nor Stephen Stills played on "Sentimental Journey", it is unlikely any other instrumental tracks for that album were recorded that evening. (There are rumours that Billy Preston might have performed on the album though. You forgot Billy Preston!)

Next issue coming out say about the same time as the next issues of Good Day Sunshine and Strawberry Fields Forever. Ratman is patiently waiting by the mailbox.
