Greg Hawkes at Infest
Must say I was a bit cynical about the whole ukelele thing. But after hearing his presentations at Infest and listening to his cd (a good listen for a day trip), all I can say is well played, my good man. He's quite sincere about his love of ukelele and the Fabs. He seems to still be the tiny gnome he was in The Cars, only he's lost his glasses and is even blonder than me. Best of all was the musician's forum (with Steve Holl(e)y playing chair), where it appeared obvious that this man could instantaneously remember the words to any Beatles song and play it on ukelele. And for the Sunday night concert, he wore what any big Beatles fan with some dollars stashed away would. A Shea Stadium reproduction jacket. (They make them in his size?) Such a nice guy I didn't even ask him if was true that Ric Ocasek was an alien sent to Earth to steal our supermodels. (Yes, I know, that is a rarity for me not to say awful things. Believe it or don't.)

Re: Greg Hawkes at Infest
Forgot to mention that he's still quite enamored of having worked with Paul, though he didn't let on if Paul had ever mentioned that "Motor of Love" was about his dad. He did tell his amusing anecdote about how at the session Paul gave everyone a copy of the Russian album. Greg looked at the cover with the Russian printing and said, "Oh, the new Ron McCaptain album!"
