My own thoughts which I thought myself:
1. A drag that it isn't a 2 disc set...so it's hard to complain about what isn't on it since there's no more damn room! Could have been other sources for the live tracks...I would think that George's last concert was recorded (as well as the Dark Horse tour), since George recorded everything. Or even the Prince's Trust concert for "Here Comes The Sun" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" with Ringo on drums for both...or the duet with Paul Simon on "Here Comes The Sun".
2. Sonically, it all sounds better than it ever has. Which doesn't say much seeing as how all but two of the tracks had already been recently remastered. And what hasn't been recently remastered? Oh, yeah...the unrepresented "Dark Horse" and "Extra Texture". Maybe Giles will work on those, too.
3. On to the packaging. Never heard of the guy who did the liner notes. Quite likely, I'll never hear of him again. Apart from the notes being rather confusing as to what actually is on the cd, and when it was released...really the thing reads like a eulogy read by a minister who knows nothing of the guest of honor.
4. What would George do? Leave out any musician and producer credits? No concrete clue as to what album the songs came from without having to reread the lame liner notes?
5. Since the press release mentioned many never before seen photos...well, yes, of course, since there are many 2 page spreads of...not George. And a good deal of the photos appear to be of 1969 vintage. And funny how the first pic of George in the booklet is one where George looks much like Dhani...shades of Yoko's pimping Sean on "Lennon Anthology".
6. The back cover photo brings to mind Ken Mansfield's description of George..."skinny jeans with no ass."

Anyroad, Judy took me out for my birthday...two days after the cd came out. Best Buy had already sold their whole stock...so we had to go to Barnes & Noble. And at Wal-Mart...the same amount of copies as they stocked of "Liverpool 8". Nada one.
