I did not read your peom till now butt this Morning I was standing on the front porch looking at a pair of Mocking Birds in the cold on the driveway pecking at the ground. I knew there was nothing there so I threw a couple pieces of bread out to them. They seemed to enjoy it!
Mocking birds are not eay to scare and are very territorial. So this pair is assigned to my yard as they do stay put and defend their Home. They are very often seen flying down at passing cats trying to scare them off and they will run off other mocking birds that invade their territory!
