crip is cool...but stepping out is great too....

Love listening to John's instructions to the band to hold it down in Stepping Out. It's a song we don't hear too often, or even often enough considering it was one of the last songs he recorded before Chapman came on the scene.

Larry, I can't believe you said Crippled Inside! While running through many Lennon songs in my head just now, Crippled Inside definitely popped up as a great one! This is a fun topic. Some of my favorites are Imagine, a beautiful, haunting song that never fails to bring a tear; Not A Second Time-John's voice in this early song is really full of the emotion of the song's sentiment. Even as a 13 year old I felt that hurt and frustration. Also, I love Ringo's drumming. Although the song is a group effort, I always focus on just Ringo and John. I also love Number Nine Dream, Jealous Guy, and Beautiful Boy. Thanks for asking, Steve!

Nobody Loves You When You're Down and Out - captures the man who was only interested in the highs and lows and nothing in between at his lowest personally and highest musically.
