My report

I wont write a full details review: it would be too long. It is just a resume of my London and Liverpool experience and it is to read with a little bit of humour, not too seriously.

London
I arrive in London on July 10. On my first day I was so excited that I walk until I had blisters on my feet. I register for english lessons and bought my cell phone. That night I was expecting to meet people for a tripadvisor meet up but I was too tired.

What I already knew and confirm after a month in London:

Collectivly, Londoners are polite, respectful, clean, well dressed and they smell good. Individually, there may be exception, but I didn't met any exception on my trip.

Londoners are organized. Everywhere, everything is easy. In the bus, they always tell you where this bus is going and at each stop you will know the name of the street where you are. The tube is easy to understand. In store, everybody queue so nobody try to pass by another. In the museum or other place to visit, the way in and way out are clearly indicated. You have street signs everywhere to show you which way to go.

I read in newspaper that alcool is a problem in England. But it is not specific to London. I saw alot of Londoners drink a pint outside pubs all around London. But it didn't look like they are out of control. Even when they are a crowd, they stay calm and don't do too much noise. Londoners drink beer with elegance.

London is expensive. Yes it is. We just should not compare prices or converted in our money. In London we have to live in pounds and that is it.

What I learn about London

They can't make weather predictions. I was watching 2 different channels and look on internet and nobody had the same predictions for the day. I think it is because weather is unpredictible in London. For a few minutes you can have a light rain and then the sun is back for a few hours and then it is cloudy for awhile and... it change all the time. But I can say that I have only one full rainy day in all the month and it was my last day.

I knew London was a shopping capital but I didn't knew how big is this industry. I can't count all the Cartier, Channel, Burberry, Prada, Dior, Gucci... I saw everywhere in London. But what amaze me the most is the various department stores: there is many succursales of House Of Fraser, John Lewis, Next, Mark and Spencer, Debenham, Topshop and that is without all the others: Liberty, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Fenwick, Selfridges, and I am sure I forgot some others. And I dont mention all the little boutiques you can found everywhere in London. Amazing, really! I done alot of watching but not much buying.

My favorites places.

My favorite park is St-James. I love sit and read there. I love just walk in the park and look at people and ducks. I also like all the other parks and the little squares. My favorite square is Lincoln's Inn Fields. And I had great peaceful moments in Victoria Embankment gardens. Ahhh! London is so green!

I love Neal Yard. It is young and so colourful. I feel good there.

I love Trafalgar Square. It is so lively. I can stay there for a long time feeling dizzy at looking people.

I love National portrait gallery. I can't have enough of all those portraits.

I Love Somerset court yard. For the fontains when childrens play there on a sunny day.

I Love British Library. I love the feeling to be surrounded by books. I didn't have enough time there. I will have to go back.

I love Abbey road. Abbey Road is in my heart and in my soul...

I love Borough Market. For the odors and the colors. If I was living in London, I would have my little basket to go at Borough Market every saturday morning.

I Love Hatchards Bookstore. I would be a regular customer if I was living in London.

I love Notting Hill and Camden: groovy areas.

Finally, I thought I would had enough of London after 30 days but it didn't happen that way. I didn't want to leave. I love London. I feel good in London. I love people in London. I was travelling alone and it was great because I had the chance to do what I want at my own rythm. Often, I stop on my way just to look around and enjoy the moment. I am back home and I know I will have to go back in London. It is a rendez-vous...

Liverpool
It was my fourth visit in Liverpool and it was still a big thrill. Just being there and walking on the streets. Everywhere you can heard Beatles music. So cool! I went to The Cavern on Matthew strett. Such a feeling! Hard Days Night Hotel is like a museum. Being in Liverpool is like doing a pilgrimage.

Pictures to come...
