Unbelievably bad coaching at the end of the Jacksonville game.Kick the field goal!

Don't like him or Elway for the way they did Dan Reeves. Also Elway thought he was too good to play for the hapless Colts that drafted him so he refused to play there!

:JIMK: I'm a little surprised that Steve has not expressed an opinion on the subject. Why would you run a running play with no timeouts and thirty seconds left?Especially when you have one of the best kickers of alltime.

Re: Shanahan Should Retire

Yesterday I felt like you did Doc. Bonehead move by Shanahan. Today I watched a replay of the 3rd down play. If Plummer and Q execute that handoff there was plenty of open ground to run and he should have got at least a first down, which would have allowed for a spike to kill the clock. If they would have kicked the field goal on 3rd down it would have been a 40 yarder-not a guarantee on the road. It wasn't the best coached game....Shanahan has got to quit using his challenges when they are no-hopers to be overuled....however the biggest blame goes to the players. Q fumbles, then dodges out of the lockerroom to hide from the media. And the Broncos O-line had a few momentum killing penalties that killed drives. And most suprising of all, Champ Bailey did his best Elvis "Toast" Patterson imitation.

But give the Jags credit. Right now they look like they may have a Top 5 Defense.

Its a long season and I think the Broncs (and Champ Bailey) will bounce back. They do need to learn how to win some close ones on the road.

:JIMK: I don't think you can assume a first down on that play and if you don't get the first down and with no timeouts left it's questionable that you get the field goal team lined up properly in time.On the other hand if you kick the field goal on yhird down, there's a 95% chance that you win the game. The Jags offense wasn't doing anything and Elam is automatic from less than forty.

I think if Q hangs on to the ball, Broncos win the game.

:JIMK: Maybe, but the safer way to win would have been to kick the field goal than.Unless Jacksonville got a big kick return they weren't going to score.
